___The Hajj Coin's Special History
The Hajj Coin was created under the leadership of His Majesty King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz
and was given the blessing to produce it as the Official Hajj Commemorative Medallion
for all the faithful who travel to Mecca and Medina. Unfortunately His Majesty King Faisal
(may Allah rest his soul) was assassinated March 25, 1975 and the coin was not
produced for distribution.
The Hajj Coin was sealed in a vault for over 30 years and only recently was the vault
opened to reveal the coin. Upon opening the case of the coin, its brilliance almost
blinded the designer.
Upon seeing the coin and what it represented its designer, al Shaheen, recalled how His
Majesty was amazed to see the beauty of the coin. The day before the assassination
The King had given orders to declare the coin as the "Official Medallion of the Hajj."
"Out of respect for His Majesty, I did not have the heart to go through with producing the
medallion. It brought tears to my eyes when I would look at the coin, so I locked it up in a
vault and vowed I would not take it out for 30 years. This coin is the very coin that His
Majesty held in his hands."
"Look how it shines!"
"More than 30 years have passed. The Medallion is just too beautiful not to share with
the millions of the Faithful who make the pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina every year."
This medallion is a gift to be passed on from "Generation to Generation".
Some of the faithful will bring more than one to take with them to Mecca . After bringing
them back from Mecca they can present them to family and friends
"I would like to have 10 of them to take with me to Mecca and then give them away to my
family and friends who could not make it this year. I am sure others will do the same."
said Mohamad al Sudani.
